________________________________________
Thanks for visiting the Junior Hockey page. Here you will find key summary
information about our club, with further details available on additional pages.

If you are interested in your child joining the club, please read our joining information.

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP ON OUR WEBSITE UNTIL OUR MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY CONFIRMS.

In order to ensure fair access to hockey, we hold a waiting list for some age groups. Junior players will only be added to the waiting list if all the required
details are provided.

General information about our Junior Section

Our junior section starts from Year 1 to Year 11. Those in Year 12 & above play in our adult teams, although depending on numbers we may run U18 teams.

Our home pitches are located at Blatchington Mill School. We have two astro-pitches.

We run several teams for boys and girls. Some older juniors play on Saturdays with Sunday fixtures as the main day for junior fixtures and leagues. Each team has a volunteer manager and usually a couple of additional admin helpers. We would like as many parents as possible to volunteer and help out as much as possible!

Training is scheduled for weekday evenings. Each training group will have a nominated lead coach and supporting coaches. All training takes place during Blatchington Mill School term dates. The hockey season starts in September and finishes in April.

There is an annual membership fee payable each year in September (pro rata’d if joining later in the season) and additional match fees payable for each game or tournament your child plays in.

Hockey equipment

All juniors (U18 years of age) must wear mouth-guard and shin-pads; BHHC
cannot accept responsibility for injuries resulting from not wearing them.

We have spare sticks that we can lend to new joiners during training sessions.

All juniors should wear sports kit and should take into account weather
conditions (i.e. water-proofs, gloves / beanie hats for wet / cold conditions). Layers of kit are recommended. Additionally good trainers for astro-turf surface.
