Brighton & Hove Hockey Stars is an exciting new initiative from Brighton & Hove Hockey Club which aims to make hockey available to young girls and boys currently in school years 3 to 6 who may not have the opportunity to play or access the sport otherwise.
Children of all abilities are welcome to join the hour-long sessions this Spring, which will run for five weeks in April and May on Wednesdays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at Blatchington Mill School, Nevill Avenue, Hove, BN3 7NB.
Brighton & Hove Hockey Stars is sponsored by Morgan Sindall Construction.
As part of the sessions each child will receive and get to keep a playing shirt (supplied at the first session) and a hockey stick (supplied at each session but looked after by the club until the last session).
The sessions take place on Wednesday April 23, Wednesday April 30, Wednesday May 7, Wednesday May 14 and Wednesday May 21.
The total cost per child for all of the five sessions is £10, to be paid prior to the first session. If the child were subsequently to join Brighton & Hove Hockey Club then this £10 can be used as part payment towards junior membership.
Every child will needs to have have an adult present throughout each of the sessions. The adult does not have to be a parent or guardian but must be a trusted adult known to them and that adult takes responsibility for the child when they are not on the pitch. It is acceptable for one adult to have responsibility for several children.
